 At Make a Change Organization-
MACO-, our mission is to
work hard with the street kids in Nairobi to provide them with education
that will help them get jobs. In Nairobi there is
a perpetuated state of homeless kids, who remain uneducated and unproductive
to the society simply because of the class unto which they were born or
ended up. Drugs, Prostitution, and thievery are just a few of the survival
methods these kids end up turning to. We are praying that they will
have hope through this organization and change their lives for God. These
kids have ended up in the streets because of poverty and lack of necessities,
their parents either cannot afford to take care of them, or they have died-typically
due to AIDS. 
Education is the greatest tool that no individual should ever be denied. Many people cannot afford to pay for education in most of the third world countries. Kenya is one of the countries that faces a high cost of living yet very little opportunities to make a decent salary. To most people, education has become a luxury they cannot afford. It is an opportunity that the youths in Kenya not only will appreciate, but also will improve their lives. The population of Kenya is increasing and is estimated to be over 31 million. According to Pathfinder International, a non-governmental organization based in Kenya, "9.2 million youth between the ages of 15 and 30 years old have often remained outside of national affairs. Today, as national demographics begin to reflect the AIDS pandemic's alarming impact, Kenya's government has demonstrated its commitment to this growing and increasingly important constituency." We plan to work with the youths as they are the future of the country's development. God believes in them and He will make them great servants and leaders. For News and Events go here.
